When ALL is Said and Done...

In summary, BB summer school was a fun way to learn these applications... I would say that on a scale of 1-10, I would rate myself an 8.5. There are still some things I'd like to go and explore more and perhaps try doing some of the teacher's pet tasks.

Betty Blogger Summer School did meet my expectations -- although I did find it hard to fit it into the summer schedule...knowing that you could play catch up along the way was a good thing.

Library Lady you are a hoot! Thank you for your comments on my blog -- this helped to know that I was doing things right.

In the whole program I found the Productivity Tools and Wikis the most challenging...I think that the Productivity Tools were a surprise to me and a bit overwhelming. I also had some issues with the security settings on our computer and was unable to cut and paste as I would have liked.

This self-directed learning model was good with your email prompts. You didn't have to leave your home to work on this but could if you needed to. The prompts were just enough to remind and encourage and of course the chance to win a prize at the end is an added incentive.

I would recommend this course to a friend. I heard about this course at the library. Then, after mentioning that I was taking this course, found out that three of my friends had already done so. And...while taking this course and browsing other blogs discovered that two of my friends were taking this one now but I didn't know it! Small world isn't it?

Thanks for introducing me to the computer world in new ways!!!

Library Thing is Cool

I liked this site. I am a new book clubber and this may be a way to find some new books to check out. I will have to explore it some more...

But wait, I'm so busy on my computer now, when will I ever have time to read???

My URL at library thing is...
http://www.librarything.com/catalog/NLammersLibr.

(P.S. I could not paste the URL here so I just wrote it in...hope this still works...)

Will I use this again? For sure!

RSS Feeds

I once again learned something new! I signed up for the following RSS feeds...
Home-The Globe and Mail
Crochet.about.com
CanadianLiving.com
Craftzine.com

There's a whole lot of reading in my list. Just wondering how you delete an RSS Feed if you aren't that interested in it? I'll have to go back in and figure it out.

Have a good one!

Family Picnic...I'm Invited!

Yay! Don't we all love the family picnic with the silly games and the too tall stories. What memories and stories they create.

I'm coming to the family picnic and I will bring my Watergate Salad. You know the green one with the pineapple and marshmallows. Not necessarily healthy, but definitely yummy!

My PB Wiki experience was easy to use...although I did end up posting the comment first and then found the edit button. Not so bad to think for myself...

At this time I do not have a need for my own Wiki but I can definitely see where it would have its uses.

See you all at the family picnic!!

image     Apple Crisp
                    Ooh La La!

Everyone loves a potluck, right?!?
Well, a number of years ago (when I was still single) I went to one.  Looking for an easy recipe, I made up an apple crisp for the occasion.  Everything was going OK until I noticed that one of the gentlemen at our table was poking through the apple crisp I made without really eating it.  I asked him what was wrong.

"Did you make this?" he asked.
"Yes...what's wrong with it?  I said.
"It's very interesting.  What spices did you use?" he asked as he took another very small nibble.

I decided to taste it myself.  Well, needless to say it was quite awful and very embarrassing.  Through humour and considerable contemplation from everyone at our table, I realized that I had used the spice cloves rather than cinnamon.

To this day, I really dislike potlucks.  When I attend one I rarely bring something I have made myself unless I taste it first.  And I eat with caution because you never know what might be lurking on the dessert table.

Picasa - A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words!

I've just spent some time on Picasa and found a beautiful picture of a leaf with a water drop and a fly/insect. I noticed in the water droplet there were clouds in a blue sky. Someone must have put that there...?...

The tags on the photo were: bubble, grass, water, rain, leave, drops, drop, plant. I found it under the tag "water."

I liked Picasa. My sister has used this site to post her vacation photos and we have been emailed to look at them. That's kind of neat.

I might just use this application myself. I take photos and they get saved to the computer and disk and never seem to get printed or shared. This may just be my oportunity!
